At San Diego Concealed Carry, we provide the knowledge and training you need to remain safe, confident, and compliant throughout your firearms journey. Below is a list of our most commonly requested instruction; however, customized training options are always available. If you do not see exactly what you are looking for, please contact us and we will tailor a course to meet your specific needs.

  • California DOJ Initial CCW Course (16-hours) - Designed for individuals seeking their initial CCW permit who have either received their approval from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department or have at minimum completed their interview with the Sheriff’s Department. This course fulfills all California DOJ training requirements. Shoot qualification Certificate, Issuance Letter and Proof of Training for other state permits such as Arizona are all provided upon successful completion of course.

  • California DOJ Renewal CCW Course (8-hours) - Designed for individuals seeking to renew their CCW permit. This course fulfills all California DOJ training requirements. Shoot qualification Certificate, Issuance Letter and Proof of Training for other state permits such as Arizona are all provided upon successful completion of course.

  • Introduction to Firearms - Ideal for beginners or anyone who has never received formal firearms instruction. Learn proper firearm operation, handling, and safety protocols. Instructor-provided firearms are available for students who do not yet own one.

  • Youth Firearms Training - A structured, age-appropriate program designed to teach children not only the fundamentals of firearm handling but also respect and safety. Instruction emphasizes understanding the seriousness of firearms, recognizing their potential danger, and handling them only with explicit adult permission and supervision. This training promotes responsible attitudes and safe practices from an early age.

  • Fieldstrip, Cleaning and Maintenance - Protect your investment by learning how to properly fieldstrip, clean, and perform basic maintenance on your firearm. Keep your equipment reliable, safe, and ready for use.

  • Fix It - Learn how to identify, prevent, and safely clear firearm malfunctions and stoppages—whether caused by operator error, ammunition issues, or mechanical problems. This course builds confidence and proper response skills. Malfunction types I, II and III as well as hangfire and squib are covered.

  • Marksmanship - Improve your shooting accuracy with personalized guidance to refine stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger control, and follow-through. Perfect for anyone wanting more consistent and precise results.

  • Holster Draw & Re-holstering: Setup and Safe Techniques - Drawing from and returning to a holster requires deliberate training.  Failing to adhere to proper techniques can lead to serious injury. This course covers holster selection, setup for your body and carry style, and the development of safe, consistent draw and reholstering habits.

  • Defensive shooting - Self-defense shooting requires a mindset and skill set that differs from traditional marksmanship. Whether you carry concealed or are focused on home protection, this course teaches essential defensive shooting concepts and techniques.

  • Lighting for Self-Defense - You can’t choose the timing or circumstances of a self-defense encounter. Learn to operate effectively in low-light environments. Training includes proper use of handheld and weapon-mounted lights, threat identification, scene control, and practical techniques for defensive situations.

  • Non & Less Lethal Alternatives - A hands-on module focused on non-lethal defensive tools—with an emphasis on OC (Oleoresin Capsicum). Training includes the science behind OC, safe deployment, legal considerations, and drills using inert training spray. Additional less-lethal options and de-escalation techniques are also covered.

  • Rifle or Shotgun - For those looking to learn or advance their skills with long guns. Instruction covers safe operation, handling, technique, and practical application for either rifles or shotguns is available.

  • Court Ordered Firearms Safety Courses - In person or Zoom options available.  A classroom-based instructional program designed to satisfy court-mandated firearms safety requirements. Participants receive comprehensive safety education and, upon successful completion, an official certificate for submission to the appropriate authorities. (Note: there is No firearm handling, range time or live fire with this course.)
